(New York, NY)—On April 10th, the annual HAIR PLAY celebration came to the grand Gotham Hall in New York City, hosted by Goldwell, KMS California, and Arrojo. More than 450 salon professionals and top industry tastemakers attended the highly-anticipated event, which showcased the latest in hair trends, inspirations, and techniques from each of the brand’s masterful teams.
The energy-filled evening of fashion and professional education was designed to highlight key initiatives and programs for 2016. An engaged crowd watched dozens of models strut the stage, revealing a full range of cuts, colors, and styles crafted to help grow salon business and appeal to a diverse range of clients, from the most modest to the bold and brave.
The KMS California Team (Simon Miller, Sonna Brado, and Lori Panarello) showed off new styles and cutting-edge shapes, while top stylist Nick Arrojo demonstrated his breakthrough American Wave and razor-cut techniques. Goldwell’s powerhouse team (Rebecca Hiele, Mark Holloway, and Nick Pagano) created chic color on live models and presented the Blonde Collection, the introduction of Kerasilk, and the Color Zoom D!srupt Collection.
Other highlights included the celebration of KMS California’s big 40th anniversary, as well appearances by Corinne Brown, the US Partner Gold winner of the 2015 Color Zoom Competition, which challenged top stylists from around the globe to break through the conditional constraints of shape, color, and texture.
There will be plenty of opportunities to catch upcoming HAIR PLAY events this spring and fall when these creative teams set their sights on cities such as Nashville, Austin, Cleveland, and Charlotte.
